STARS is more than a school with excellent education statistics. STARS is an inclusive place for all families. We are unlike a public school and are different than a traditional private school. STARS families represent a diverse demographic and our funding structure allows STARS to remain affordable for all income levels. Our small class size and our focus on a STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Art, and Music) curriculum allow STARS to accommodate a diverse group of students to achieve the immense potential each possesses.
STARS has proven it is capable of quickly adapting its educational methods to ensure our students remain a priority in times of crisis. COVID-19 presented a never before seen crisis and challenge to all schools. STARS, in less than 48 hours before the school closed, communicated with its families on the plan for educating its students during school closure. STARS students missed one day of educational instruction. One day. Teachers and the administration provided its families with detailed lesson plans, written materials, and Google classroom access. Our teachers have held class with their students online on a daily basis. Our students are not reviewing material. Our teachers are moving forward with new material and maintaining the curriculum. If our students do not have internet access that is okay as STARS teachers work with that family to ensure the student has what is needed. STARS teachers are there for the families and have maintained daily evening office hours so that families may call and ask questions and receive guidance. Our teachers have gone above and beyond to ensure that their students are able to continue learning no matter what their home or world environment.
STARS families host events to foster a sense of community and provide students, and their guests, with positive, safe interaction. An example is STARS Halloween Trunk or Treat held by our families. Our families look forward to participating in and attending as it provides a safe place for their children. It is common to see the students, and their guests, independently going from trunk to trunk getting candy from other families, participating in the wagon ride, outdoor movie, or simply running around with their friends being a kid. Our culture invites families to play an active role in a student’s education and for the entire family to be a part of a warm, supportive, and friendly community.
Don’t take our word for how amazing this school is, come experience it for yourself. We invite you to schedule a tour during the school day to see us in action. On your way to the school office for your tour don’t be taken aback if you run into a student or two in the hallway who looks you in the eye and says, “Good Morning” or “Good Afternoon.” It’s okay to respond. Remember, we are educating stars and future leaders.
We understand that not everyone has the ability to tour during the school day and we are flexible. We also offer the option of allowing your child to shadow for the day. You can also tour the school after school hours, speak to our principal, or one of our current families to learn more about STARS. We invite you to learn more about us.
